Dear Parents,
Welcome back to a new school year.
To follow is some important information for the coming year:
- The voluntary contribution for the year is €110 annually. This is an important source of revenue for the school and your co-operation is greatly appreciated. Part of this contribution will go towards covering the cost of photocopying, art and craft supplies and subscriptions for the various programmes in place within the school.
- The Healthy Eating Policy in our school bans fizzy drinks, crisps, sweets and chewing gum. It is advisable for the children to bring their own drinks. However if the need arises, the water in the taps is safe to drink.
- The cost of the Allianz Pupil Personal Accident Insurance is €8 per pupil, this is for 24/7 protection.
- Please check your child’s bag regularly for letters relating to school matters. If a parent wishes to meet with a teacher, please make an appointment. The teachers are happy to talk with you via phone, email or zoom.
- The school phone number is 090 9684663. If your child is absent from school please phone or send a text to the school mobile 085 8278667 to let us know. Also please forward a note with a reason for this absence.
- Junior Infants will go home at 12 noon until Friday the 13th of September. Please find below the opening and closing times for the coming year. We would be grateful if you would adhere to those times, otherwise it can cause disruption. Infants can be picked up from the front door. The doors will open at 9am every morning. For Health & Safety reasons, we ask that your child remain in the car until this time.
- Attached is a copy of the school calendar for 2024-2025.
- Also attached is our updated Code of Discipline. Please read, sign and return the enclosed slip to the school.
- Upcoming Events:
- Swimming at Tuam swimming pool for children from 1st class upwards on the 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th of November and also the 6th and 13th of December 2024.
- School Fitness Ireland Gymnastics in the Skehana Community Centre for all children on the 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th of January and also the 6th and 13th of February 2025.
- Drumming with Drumadore on the 29th of April 2025.
- School concert on Wednesday the 18th of December in Skehana Community Centre. More details on all of the above nearer to the time.

Lunch time – 12.40pm – 1.10pm
Dismissal for Infants – 1.45pm
Dismissal for 1st – 6th Class – 2.45pm
